FUNDRAISING BEGINS FOR GRAD NIGHT CELEBRATIONS
Graduating seniors from the Billings area are busy preparing and fundraising for their all-night, alcohol-free graduation celebrations. The graduation night parties provide a safe and fun way for teenagers to celebrate.
The organizing committee hopes to raise $40,000 for the events. The money is used to purchase prizes for all students, buy food and hire entertainment.
The parties are generally held the last week of May. The supervised celebrations start around 10 p.m. and conclude about 4 a.m. Organizers say more than 90 percent of graduates attend the parties.
MasterLube also helps with fundraising by donating all proceeds from one day's business to the schools during an event called “Grad Day.” This year's event
is May 19 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. “Every single dollar spent at MasterLube that day goes to the schools for these events,” says MasterLube president Craig Godfrey. Students are selling optional pre-paid tickets for oil changes for that day’s event and will also have a BBQ and car wash on site as part of the fundraising efforts. Each school will “adopt” a MasterLube site for the day to conduct their fundraising; Billings West will be at the MasterLube on King Ave W, Billigns Senior at Grand Ave, Skyview on Main Street in the Heights, Billings Central at Downtown and Laurel High School at the MasterLube Hand Car Wash at the corner of 8th Street West and Broadwater Ave.
Students and supporters can also invite their friends to attend the fundraiser via Facebook by going to www.facebook.com/masterlube and clicking on “events.”

GRAD DAY FUNDRAISER A GREAT SUCCESS
Hundreds of student and parent volunteers washed cars, directed traffic and fired up BBQ grills during a windy, chilly day on May 14. But the weather didn't discourage Billings area residents from supporting their cause: the all-night, alcohol and drug free graduation celebrations for all four Billings High Schools and Laurel High. The
graduation night parties provide a safe and fun way for teenagers to celebrate.
The day's total fundraising hit $63,000 that will help provide prizes, food and entertainment for the parties.
The supervised celebrations are held the last week of May and start around 10 p.m. and conclude about 4 a.m. (depending on the school). Organizers say more than 90 percent of graduates attend the parties.
MasterLube wishes to extend a very grateful "thank you" to all the parents and students who helped organized and execute this event. Without you, this event would not be possible!
Videos and photos from the event are available on our Grad Day page or on Facebook by going to www.facebook.com/masterlube.
